This learning intervention provides key and underlying skills for other ETD Practitioner such as knowing the learners, the learning environment, how to plan and prepare for facilitation, the different facilitation methods and how to evaluate the effectiveness of the training.

Learners will be expected to facilitate learning utilising the skills obtained from the three workshops as part of the summative assessment.

The role of the Facilitator

According to the Learnership contract Annexure A, the learners have to receive 30% theoretical training.  It is the responsibility of the Facilitator to facilitate the theoretical classroom training to groups of learners.  It is imperative for Facilitators to understand and manage the group dynamics involved in group facilitation.

Assessment

Learners will participate in classroom exercises, complete individual assignments and demonstrate the ability to facilitate new skills throughout the first 8 days.  During the last 2 days learners will be expected to apply all the newly acquired skills during a final summative assessment.  During the last two days their portfolios will be built and submitted for assessment.
